BOOK SA would love to receive a photo of the Love Books storefront – we haven’t been able to scrounge one up on the web. Anyone who’s got one and is willing to share is welcome to write to us via our contact page. Thanks! Here’s a great feature on the new indie book boutique:
BUYING books is an impossibility for many South Africans living below the breadline. But those lucky enough to purchase the many wonders contained in a book will find their minds and souls nourished by Love Books, an intimate indie bookshop recently opened at the Bamboo Centre in Melville, Johannesburg.
Love Books is a place to immerse one’s imagination, with the decor mirroring the creativity and playfulness of many of the books in the store.
Illustrating legends Johdel and Johnny from The Motel have adorned the walls with quirky, fairytale-like art, surrounding the space filled with comfortable, antique furniture and a very original chandelier made by Smelt.

Ben - do you have their email addie?
I'm trying to set up a gig for Yaba Badoe Ghanaian British writer who will be in Joburg in November. Her book True Murder came out this year and is a fascinating and unputdownable psychological thriller with a whole crime fiction/murder mystery at its heart and a posh English boarding school.
